There are many reasons why Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) staff love working at the airport. Two in particular are the Airport’s focus on teamwork and customer service. Tracy Bryant and Patricia Territo compose one such winning team that warmly greets visitors, travelers and staff to the Airport Admin Offices.

Tracy and Patty also ensure the Airport’s Lost and Found Program is held to the strictest standard of service and integrity. The pair was recently recognized by Mercury News columnist Sal Pizarro for their part in reuniting former San Francisco 49er John Macaulay with his well-earned Super Bowl ring.

The play began when an HMSHost employee at the Starbucks in the Terminal B baggage claim area found the gold and diamond-encrusted ring from Super Bowl XIX in a restroom. The handoff proceeded to Denny Pfaff, a retired Airport employee who volunteers at the information booths.

 Super Bowl rung
Denny immediately recognized it was a prized possession, as Macaulay's name was engraved on the ring's side. Without fumbling, he promptly lateraled the prized bauble to Tracy and Patty.

Within minutes, Macaulay came in from the sidelines looking for the ring he earned as a center on the 49ers' Super Bowl championship team in 1984. He certainly scored at SJC, with his ring intercepted in pristine condition in the hands of our honest, customer service-oriented staff. A Super Bowl ring like this one could sell for tens of thousands of dollars on the black market. Tracy recollected that Macaulay was amazed at how quickly he got it back, with no penalties or time taken off the clock.

This is just one example of the professionalism and efficiency that Tracy and Patty bring to SJC.
