  1. Native/Drought Tolerant Plants Installation and Maintenance

    March 24, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Fire Station 34

    Discover how and why native and drought tolerant plants need less water, and how to plant and care for them. Learn how to prune parts of native plants, such as branches, buds, and roots to improve or maintain their health. Dress for the elements! Wear closed-toed shoes, a hat, and bring water.   2. BAYWORK Water & Wastewater Career Fair

    March 28, 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM @ City Hall Rotunda

    The City of San José Environmental Services Department, in partnership with BAYWORK, is hosting a Water and Wastewater Career Fair. Staff from the City of San José, as well as from other Bay Area water and wastewater agencies, will be on hand to provide job seekers with information on current and anticipated vacancies at their respective agencies. In addition, representatives from local colleges and the San Jose work2future foundation will be onsite to provide information about water/wastewater training programs, as well as other careers. This is a great opportunity for members of the community to learn about job opportunities and careers in the water and wastewater industries which are facing a shortage of skilled workers in the Bay Area.

  3. Composting Basics Workshop

    March 31, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Emma Prusch Park, Meeting Hall

    Turn your leaves, yard trimmings and kitchen scraps into a nutrient rich soil amendment. Both green waste and worm composting will be covered.

    Compost bins will be available for purchase to workshop attendees.

    Need some compost to get you started? Free compost available to workshop attendees.
