Amharic Level 1 Foreign Language Class at the San Jose Learning Center

Amharic Level 1 is for very beginners and you will start by learning the Amharic alphabet. This will help you master the correct way to pronounce and write the characters. Then you will be introduced to words and phrases that are common in daily use. You will count in Amharic as well as learn the names of days, months, colors and the like. Simple verb conjugation follows to lay foundation for understanding Amharic sentence structures. Towards the end of the course, you will feel confident to construct simple sentences. There is no book required for the class, as all handouts will be provided by the instructor. Classes meet once a week for 7 consecutive weeks.
