    October 5, 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Plaza de Cesar Chavez

    Dancers of all abilities are invited to enjoy a complete evening downtown of socializing, music and dancing to a variety of music genres. The events begin each week as food trucks, beer garden and dance floor open at 5:30 p.m. Lessons from professional instructors teaching dance steps for that night’s theme are at 6 p.m. and live music gets underway at 7 p.m. for open dancing.

    Every Thursday evening starting on August 24 through October 12, 2017 walk over after work to Plaza de Cesar Chavez for an evening of socializing, music and dancing. With live bands and professional dance instructor to teach the fine points of the evening's dance style, you can tune your skills, learn something new, or just show off. A beer garden and food trucks make the evening complete. What should we do after work? CityDance San José is free and open to the public!

  1. Disability Awareness Day Celebrates 10-Year

    October 5, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ City Hall Rotunda

    The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, in collaboration with Councilmember Chappie Jones and The VMC Foundation, hosts the 10th Annual Disability Awareness Day to recognize to those who have a disability and educate the public. This year’s event is scheduled for October 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the San José City Hall Rotunda and will include activities, live music, food trucks, and a resource fair. Event attendees will be encouraged to create a piece of art to add to the art projects already on display.     Proposed changes to the City of San Jose Municipal Code to allow electronic billboards, including new policies and amendments to the Envision San José 2040 General Plan, in response to City Council Direction for Code and Policy Priorities on Electronic Billboards - “Options for public and private property that will allow electronic digital off-site advertising signs or billboard installations,” and proposed Code changes may facilitate removal of existing barriers to advertising goods or services on sites where the goods or services are not provided (off-site signage) in the format of electronic billboards and signage in the public right-of-way.
