Not sure what do to tomorrow and you happen to have library fines you want to clear? Come volunteer and eliminate those fees!
Every now and then, libraries need a little extra love from the communities they serve. You can volunteer away your library fines at a rate of $20 per hour while helping the library maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
No experience or special skills necessary, training and supplies will be provided.
Anyone under the age of 15 must volunteer alongside a parent/guardian.
Volunteers are required to complete the full duration of their volunteer shift and arrive 15 minutes early to update their library account information.

Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services is now accepting applications for the 2017 Safe Summer Initiative Grant (SSIG) - The Safe Summer Initiative offers grants to non-profit organizations, governmental entities, and faith-based organizations that provide safe programs and activities that encourage healthy play and nurture positive relationships. Emphasis is placed on services benefiting youth in Hot Spot areas (locations identified as experiencing the most gang activity and youth violence). Applicants must primarily serve San José youth. Applications will only be accepted online through WebGrants and are due by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
