The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Bringing Everyone’s Strengths Together (B.E.S.T.) Grant Program is now accepting applications for its next triennial cycle, which runs from Sept. 1, 2019 through Aug. 31, 2022. Grant funds are available for gang prevention and intervention programs aimed at youth exhibiting high-risk behaviors and their families. Applicants must be a nonprofit with a 501(c)(3) status, a government agency, or a legally-recognized faith-based organization. All applicants must attend a workshop to apply. A workshop will be held on March 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hank Lopez Community Center. To register and access the application, visit http://grants.sanjoseca.gov/index.jsp. Completed proposals can only be submitted via WebGrants. Proposals must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019.
