The first overnight camping experience at the historic Alum Rock Park sold out in a just two hours. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Park Rangers’ Learn to Camp Overnight Experience connects people to nature and introduces the basics of camping. Park Rangers will demonstrate how to pitch a tent, how to make a campfire and how to cook outdoors. Tents, sleeping bags and other supplies are provided. The event currently has a wait list of 100 campers, proving San José residents value a connection to nature.
