| Acute and Chronic
Nickel Toxicity:
Development an Acute-to-Chronic Ratio for West Coast Marine
Species
This study obtained acute and chronic nickel toxicity data
for three west coast marine species, to augment the national
EPA database of marine ACR values. Sensitive, ecologically
important species were selected from three diverse phyla.
Critical life stages of these organisms were exposed to
nickel for extended periods to estimate chronic toxicity.
This data was used to re-calculate site-specific nickel
criteria for lower South San Francisco Bay, although the
data have application to the entire S.F. Bay and to national
criteria for nickel. |
