Overview
The Alma Community Center is a safe, welcoming place providing a lunch program for older adults and afterschool supervision for children and youth. At the Youth Center, a drop-in afterschool program is available for youth ages 6 to 14 and provides homework assistance, arts & crafts, and recreation opportunities. At the Senior Center, we offer a weekday lunch program and other social activities for older adults over the age of 60 and those who are disabled. We also host a number of special cultural and holiday celebrations.

Senior Nutrition Program

The City of San Jose in partnership with Bateman Senior Meals, provides nutritious meals to Older Adults 50+ at 13 community centers throughout the city. All meals served at our community centers meet county health standards.

Youth Programming

City of San Jose offers a drop-in youth program. Program offers a wide variety of after school supportive services for youth including recreational opportunities , homework assistance, sports, nutritional snacks, and other enrichment activities.

Akoma Arts

Akoma Arts offers a wide range of life changing programs to individuals, professionals, schools, corporations, special interest groups and other organizations. Akoma's programs include workshops, events, interpersonal skill development, and musical performances. Our programs combine the therapeutic and healing effects of drumming and dancing as our classes and workshops integrate traditional and modern approaches to music, rhythms, movement, and sound to promote physical, mental, and emotional balance.
