    2. The City of San José’s St. James Park is the center of historic downtown St. James Neighborhood. Our goal is to transform St. James Park to a San José “Signature Park” that is safe and fun, with robust engaged communities, civic innovations and talent that contribute to expand opportunity for entrepreneurship and economic mobility.

      The long-term vision for St. James Park would be to create and engage communities of diverse people in participating in the environment and attractions. The City and partners have already begun scheduling and implementing a variety of activities aimed at bringing a diverse range of our community together in St. James Park. Opportunities to continue activating St. James Park through October 1, 2014 are available through funding made possible by the Knight Foundation. If you are interested in applying for a funding to conduct an event or activity at St. James Park, we encourage you to fill out the form below.       • Event/activity must be open to the public, no admission fee;
      • All equipment, staffing, talent, etc. would be secured through the applicant;
      • All fields of the application must be filled in;
      • Applicant may be a non-profit organization, business or individual;
      • Various dates and times are available, be sure to indicate your proposed date(s) and time(s) on your application (NOTE: the Summer in St. James season runs through October 1, 2014);
      • Funding up to $2,500 may be awarded to each application selected;

      1. Submit application via the form below no later than August 31, 2014
      2. Applications are reviewed each Friday, beginning July 25, 2014 and will continue through September 5, 2014 or until all funding has been awarded
      3. Acceptance or non-acceptance notifications will be e-mailed to the applicant
      4. Selected recipients will receive and an Outdoor Special Event Permit Application to submit to Brian Clampitt at brian.clampitt@sanjoseca.gov
      5. Funding will be awarded the day of each event/activity
