TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESULTS (Any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This class is the highest level in a general analytic series that involves the most difficult and complex assignments in personnel analyses, budget, fiscal and organizational methods analyses including general staff analyses. An incumbent in this class supervises or leads others in the lower level analytic classes of Analyst I and II. The specific analytic duties of this class may vary widely depending upon the administrative nature of assignments and in the departmental location of an incumbent. This class differs from that of Analyst II in that an incumbent of the latter performs less complex assignments and does not normally lead or supervise other professional staff on a continuing basis. Incumbents in this class are involved in the most complex administrative assignments in support of management.

TYPICAL END RESULTS

In-depth analytical reports regarding the effectiveness, productivity and efficiency of programs and operations of City departments. Eligible lists for the selection of City personnel.
