EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE MACHINIST (3174)

CLASS PURPOSE

Under general supervision, performs journey-level machinist work of moderate difficulty in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of machinery, and equipment through the use of lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other precision equipment. Performs related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Incumbents in this class have responsibility for the construction, assembly, installation, and repair of metal parts, tools, and machines with an emphasis on work with pieces requiring precision dimensions.

Training and Experience

Training and experience equivalent to completion of tenth (10) grade education and two (2) years of experience as a journey-level machinist.

Licenses/Certificates

Possession of a valid California Driver's License at all times is a condition of employment.
