FACILITY SOUND AND LIGHT TECHNICIAN (PT) (3235)

CLASS PURPOSE
   Under general supervision, performs technical work of moderate difficulty in the installation, operation, maintenance, and minor repair of theater sound, light, and other equipment for use in a variety of theatrical events. Performs related work as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESULTS (Any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
   This class differs from that of Senior Facility Attendant in that incumbents of this class operate highly technical sound and lighting consoles and other equipment during a variety of events and productions. Incumbents of this class are supervised by the Event and Technical Services Supervisor.

Education
   Completion of high school.

Experience
   Two years of experience in the operation and maintenance of theater sound and light systems.
