San José is well-connected to the rest of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, with a range of transportation options. The city covers a geographic area of almost 180 miles. Downtown is very walkable as are other parts of the City.

San José is easily accessible from several major freeways, including 101, 280 / 680, 880, and 237. Convenient public transportation options make it easy to travel from San José to other cities in the region, including CalTrain, ACE train, VTA, and light rail.
