AUDITOR'S OFFICE STAFF

 

RUTH GARCIA MERINO, Senior Program Performance Auditor

Ruth joined the Office of the City Auditor in 1986. Previously, Ruth worked for the Bank of America and held lending and credit examination positions. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ruth is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Certified Government Financial Manager. She is member of the Association of Local Government Auditors, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and the Institute for Internal Auditors.

In addition to other types of audits, Ruth has led or participated in many of the public safety audits conducted by the Office. Notable audits include: An Audit Of The Traffic Calming Program, An Audit Of The Crossing Guard Program, A Follow-up Study to the June 1993 Audit Report: An Audit of the Fire Department – Hazardous Materials Storage Permit Fees, An Audit Of The City Of San Jose Fire Department's Strategic Plan Regarding Proposed Fire Stations, An Audit Of The Police Department--Bureau Of Field Operations Patrol Division's Staffing And Deployment, and An Audit Of The San Jose Police Department - Communications Division's Staffing And Scheduling.
