Incentives Offered by the City for Your Business
Enterprise Zone
Businesses located in the
Enterprise Zone can receive state tax credits that can significantly
reduce business-operating costs. Incentives include: Sales and Use
Tax Credits, Hiring Tax Credits, Business Expense Deductions, Net
Operating Loss Carryover and Net Interest Deduction for Lenders.

Small Business Construction
Tax Incentive
Qualifying businesses,
35 employees or less, receive a 50% reduction on construction excise
taxes of up to 3,000 square feet of new construction or tenant improvements.
These taxes are defined as Building and Structure Construction Tax,
Commercial-Residential-Mobilehome Park Building Tax and Construction
Tax. These taxes are required by City Ordinance on most non-residential
construction projects to fund infrastructure improvements associated

Special Tenant Improvement Program
in Vacant Buildings
The Special Tenant Improvement
Program (STI) was established to encourage companies to locate in
vacant buildings within industrial and r&d uses, as well as
office space in the Downtown Core. The program offers expedited

(WET)
Water Efficient Technologies
