  1. Downtown Ice

    November 15, 2014 - January 12, 2015 @ Market Street Across from Plaza de Cesar Chavez

    Skaters never tire of circling, twirling and gliding beneath 32 palms that stand majestic by day and twinkle by night. Basking in the glow of the iconic, only-in-San Jose ice rink are partners Hawaiian Airlines and Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi, who bring the aloha spirit and a lot of pizzazz to the scene.

  2. Christmas in the Park

    November 28, 2014 - January 1, 2015 @ Downtown San Jose at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez

    Christmas in the Park is an annual holiday tradition that takes place in the heart of Downtown San José at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 30 years, this whimsical event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays. Each year, the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 60 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San José schools, community groups and businesses.

We will meet a frosty juggling penguin, an ice skating snowman, and the Hawaiian singing sensation the "Hi-Fi Sisters". Great fun for all ages. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Bascom Library.

  3. Teen Project: Steampunk Crafts

    Teens: Accessorize your holiday look with your own tiny hat and steampunk goggles. We’ll provide the supplies, you provide the creativity!

    This is our annual holiday program to showcase many of Berryessa's local talent. Join us for a winter holiday performance extravaganza! Children and adults will take to the stage to tell stories, sing songs, and play instruments. Come see the beautifully decorated Christmas trees placed in the library! Have fun making crafts and playing games at the resource tables! A free book will be given to each child in attendance while supplies last.

    Downtown Ice will take place November 14, 2014 - January 11, 2015 in downtown San José's Circle of Palms. For the fifth consecutive year, the San José Downtown Association and their partners, Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation and Hawaiian Airlines, will be hosting the South Bay’s largest outdoor skating rink through the holiday season.

    People of all ages are welcome to experience the outdoor skating rink at the Circle of Palms between the Fairmont Hotel and San José Museum of Art.
