  1. Downtown Ice

    November 15, 2014 - January 12, 2015 @ Market Street Across from Plaza de Cesar Chavez

    Skaters never tire of circling, twirling and gliding beneath 32 palms that stand majestic by day and twinkle by night. Basking in the glow of the iconic, only-in-San Jose ice rink are partners Hawaiian Airlines and Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi, who bring the aloha spirit and a lot of pizzazz to the scene.

  2. Winter Wonderland

    November 26 - November 30 @ Park Ave between Almaden and Market

    Take a break from shopping on Black Friday and ride some free rides at San Jose's Winter Wonderland. Winter Wonderland is a good old-fashioned carnival set up each winter in San Jose with rides like the carousel, the 60-foot Ferris Wheel, spin rides of varying speeds for young and old, mazes and obstacle courses. Unlimited wristbands are usually about $15 for the day, but on Black Friday, from 4-7 pm on November 29, 2013, all rides are free.

  3. Applied Materials "Silicon Valley 10th Annual Turkey Trot"

    November 27, 7:00 AM @ Downtown San Jose

    Registration for the 10th Annual Applied Materials "Silicon Valley Turkey Trot" is still open! All proceeds will benefit Healthier Kids Foundation Santa Clara County, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County and the Health Trust.

  4. Christmas in the Park

    November 28, 2014 - January 1, 2015 @ Downtown San Jose at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez

    Christmas in the Park is an annual holiday tradition that takes place in the heart of Downtown San José at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 30 years, this whimsical event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays. Each year, the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 60 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San José schools, community groups and businesses.

    Downtown Ice will take place November 14, 2014 - January 11, 2015 in downtown San José's Circle of Palms. For the fifth consecutive year, the San José Downtown Association and their partners, Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation and Hawaiian Airlines, will be hosting the South Bay’s largest outdoor skating rink through the holiday season.

    People of all ages are welcome to experience the outdoor skating rink at the Circle of Palms between the Fairmont Hotel and San José Museum of Art.

  3. Silicon Valley Turkey Trot

    November 27, 6:30 AM - 12:00 PM

    The City of San José is a partner for this year’s Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot. The 10th annual race is taking place on Thanksgiving morning in downtown San José.

    You can choose from several events including 5K and 10K runs and walks as well as a kids’ fun run. The flat course takes you through downtown neighborhoods and business areas.

    The Turkey Trot begins at Santa Clara Street at Market Street and finishes at Santa Clara Street at Delmas Street.

    Here's more from race organizers: "Our goal for this year is to donate an additional $1,000,000 to the four charities! Participate by registering, volunteering or donating to the event. If you are registering, remember there are many categories you may qualify for and would be fun for you to possibly win a certain category. We are capping registration this year at 30,000 participants so register today!"
