Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services is now accepting applications for the 2017 Safe Summer Initiative Grant (SSIG) - The Safe Summer Initiative offers grants to non-profit organizations, governmental entities, and faith-based organizations that provide safe programs and activities that encourage healthy play and nurture positive relationships. Emphasis is placed on services benefiting youth in Hot Spot areas (locations identified as experiencing the most gang activity and youth violence). Applicants must primarily serve San José youth. Applications will only be accepted online through WebGrants and are due by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
