Newly constructed homes will be required to have solar as of 2020! California policy has shifted to an emphasis on all-electric buildings (switch from gas) to be powered by solar to meet carbon reduction goals. This class will provide updates on this and other relevant California policy. Real estate agents and appraisers will develop expertise to better serve their clients with solar-powered homes, competently complete valuations, and be a trusted guide for both buyers and sellers. This is not an introductory class but will impart a level of expertise to fulfill client’s needs proficiently from day one. The class includes: links to two free online tools to help with documentation and calculation of present value, free online access to PG&E videos on Solar PV technology and their vast library of online courses and resources, and free chapters of the eBook "Home Performance 101" (an insightful primer on understanding home performance and potential for efficiency improvements).
November 5, All Day @ San José City Hall, City Council Meeting
The Ellis Act Ordinance applies when a landlord or developer plans to demolish or remove rent stabilized apartments from the rental market. This ordinance requires 50% of new apartments built on the site of previously rent stabilized apartments be subject to the Apartment Rent Ordinance. On February 5, 2019, City Council asked staff to research the effects of this re-control provision on development.
