San Jose International Airport Open at 8 a.m. Today

San Jose, CA – San Jose International Airport has met the measurements required by the Federal Aviation Administration and is open as of 8 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001.  The following

security measures are now in place. 

 

·        No curbside baggage check-in.

·        Unattended vehicles will be towed away immediately.

·        No sharp objects of any kind including, but not limited to, pocket knives, scissors, carpet cutters,

      folding or retractable blades, will be permitted beyond the checkpoints.

·        Only ticketed passengers allowed past security checkpoints.

·        Photo I.D. will be required at multiple locations.

·        There will be an increased presence of uniformed police.

·        Passengers must closely control baggage and packages to avoid transporting items without

their knowledge.

·        Unattended bags are subject to inspection.

 

It is strongly recommended that passengers contact their air carriers via their toll free phone

numbers or web sites for flight information rather than coming to the Airport.  Visit www.sjc.org

for convenient links.  Please arrive 2 hours prior to scheduled departure for domestic flights, and

3 hours prior to scheduled departure for international flights.
