Major League Soccer Champions
Event:
San José Mayor Ron Gonzales invites the entire community to join
him at a community celebration for the San José Earthquakes soccer team
to congratulate them on their championship season.
Players and coaches will be available to sign autographs
following the celebration.

Background: On Sunday, October 21, the San José Earthquakes won
their first Major League Soccer championship in a 2-1 victory over the
Los Angeles Galaxy.
The Earthquakes achievement follows the championship by the San
José-based Bay Area
CyberRays, who won the national women’s professional championship in
August this year. The two
championship soccer teams have made San José the nation’s
professional soccer capital.
