Update and Holiday Travel Tips
Mineta San José International Airport
San José, CA ---- There’s
good news for holiday travelers planning on using Norman Y.
Mineta San José International Airport during the busy
Christmas-New Years holiday travel period (December 20 through
January 2). Parking should be available in both the convenient
on-Airport Long-term and Short-term parking lots. The following
holiday travel tips will help make your trip a little easier
getting to and through the Airport:
- Arrive early – Travelers should plan on arriving
at the Airport terminals approximately 90 minutes prior
to departure.
- Check the Airport parking information line at (408) 293-6788
– For the latest information on Airport parking,
call the Airport parking information line. On-Airport
Long-term and Short-term parking is expected to be available.
- Wrap gifts when you get there – Travelers should
wrap their gift packages upon arrival at their destination,
or ship the packages in advance. Wrapped gifts in both
checked and carry-on baggage may be opened if further
inspection is required.
- Carry Your Film – Don’t Pack It. Travelers
should carry all film in their carry-on baggage. Equipment
used to screen checked baggage will damage undeveloped
film.
- Dress the Part. Travelers can speed up their trip through
the passenger security
checkpoint by avoiding certain clothing and accessories
that may set off the metal detector alarm.
- Don’t forget to check the latest list of permitted
and prohibited items and other
security tips at www.TSATravelTips.us.
