Center Activated for
11 Alarm Fire at Santana Row
- City Manager Del Borgsdorf activated the City’s Emergency
Operations Center at 4:15 p.m. in response to an 11-alarm fire at the
Santana Row development near the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard
and Winchester Boulevard.
- Public inquiries should be directed to the City’s Customer

- News reporters can contact the City’s news bureau at the
Emergency Operations Center at (408) 277-3333.
- The fire is occurring in the southwest portion of the complex
in one building (Building 7) that was under construction on a five-acre
portion of the 40-acre development. One construction worker is unaccounted
for. All others have been evacuated safely and without injuries. There
have been no injuries to any of the firefighters.
- Crate & Barrel, which had opened in the last month, is on
the opposite side of the complex and is safe given the present wind direction.
- Residents in the vicinity are advised to inspect their roofs and
attics. If embers are found, residents should call 9-1-1 and hose their
roofs. For those whose residences have been affected, an Evacuation Center
has been opened at Prospect High School, located at 18900 Prospect Road
at Saratoga Avenue. There is no need to evacuate unless a Fire Department
official advises you to do so.

- Traffic Advisory –drivers are asked to avoid the vicinity
of:
- Stevens Creek between Winchester and Hwy. 880
- Winchester between Stevens Creek and Hwy. 280
- Moorpark between Winchester and Hwy. 880
