Where:

5000 Lyng Drive

(Event will kick-off in Parking Lot facing Snow Drive)

Who:

Background:
Residents of the Edenvale/Great Oaks SNI Neighborhood will be joined
by members of Our City Forest to plant street trees along Snow Drive to beautify the area and, more importantly, to serve as one of many traffic calming implementation measures slated for this neighborhood.

Residents, led by the Edenvale/Great Oaks Implementation Coalition, have worked diligently in collaboration with Councilmember Forrest Williams, the City of San José, the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, Our City Forest, and other SNI partners to launch this first SNI project for their neighborhood.

The project is being implemented following approval by the San José City Council in December 2001of the Updated Neighborhood Revitalization Plan for the area. The Strong Neighborhoods Initiative is a partnership of the City of San José, San Jose Redevelopment Agency and the community to build clean, safe, attractive neighborhoods with independent and capable neighborhood organizations.
