Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a format for content distribution. The City of San Jose offers free RSS feeds for video archives and minutes of past meetings.

How it works
Once content has been updated by the city your news reader shows feeds that are available for your review.

How to access RSS Feeds
There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the Web site by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the "RSS" orange button next to the feed.

Is any personal information stored?
No information is stored. With RSS feeds you can decide when to opt in and when you want to opt out.

Streaming is available during a live broadcast. Archived videos are typically available one day after broadcast.

Live broadcasts begin five minutes prior to a meeting's scheduled time (i.e. A 1:30 p.m. meeting will start streaming at 1:25 p.m.)

As they become available, archives will include links to agendas, synopses, minutes, and transcripts. Additionally, streaming broadcasts now also include Closed Caption information. Simply select the "Show Closed Captioning" link.

Windows Media Player 9 and higher is required to view streaming video.
