MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1999

 

The Council of the City of San Jose convened in Adjourned Regular Session at 2:43 p.m. to consider Item 8a in a joint meeting with the Redevelopment Agency Board.

 

               Present:      Council Members -  Chavez, Dando, Diaz,  Fiscalini, LeZotte, Matthews, Powers, Shirakawa, Jr., Woody; Gonzales.

 

               Absent:       Council Members -  Diquisto.

 

JOINT REDEVELOPMENT/CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS

 

8a           Adoption of resolutions by the City Council and Agency Board:

               (1)        Accepting the summary of costs and the findings of the Summary Report and the reuse value and findings of the Property Appraisal pursuant to California Health and Safety Code 33433 and making certain other findings; and,

               (2)        Approving a Disposition and Development Agreement with Balch Enterprises, Inc., for the sale of Agency-owned property located on San Ignacio Avenue between Bernal Road and Great Oaks Boulevard for a purchase price of $2,456,784, and development and construction of a 48,840 sf manufacturing and office building on such property; and,

               (3)        Amending the FY 1999-2000 Revenue Resolution and Appropriation Resolution.

               CEQA: Resolution No. 67345 [EDENVALE]

 

               Documents filed: Memorandum from Interim Executive Director, Richard Rios, dated October 13, 1999, recommending adoption of said resolutions.

 

               Discussion/Action: Upon motion by Council Member Fiscalini, seconded by Council Member Powers, and unanimously carried, and unanimously carried, Resolution No. 69177, entitled: “Resolution of the Council of the City of San José Accepting the Summary of Costs and the Findings of the Summary Report and the Reuse Value and Findings of the Property Appraisal Pursuant to California Health and Safety Code 33433 and Making Certain Other Findings; Approving a Disposition and Development Agreement with Balch Enterprises, Inc., for the Sale of Agency-Owned Property Located on San Ignacio Avenue Between Bernal Road and Great Oaks Boulevard for a Purchase Price of $2,456,784, and Development and Construction of a 48,840 SF Manufacturing and Office Building on Such Property”, was adopted. Vote: 10-0-1-0. Absent: Diquisto.
