MINUTES OF THE JOINT SAN JOSÉ CITY COUNCIL
AND REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 28, 2000
The Council of the City of San Jose convened the San José Redevelopment Agency Board at 3:31 p.m. and reconvened the City Council at 3:34 p.m. to hear Item 8a in Joint Session.
Present: Council Members - Chavez, Dando, Diquisto, Fiscalini, LeZotte, Powers, Shirakawa, Jr., Woody; Gonzales.
Absent: Council Members - None.
GENERAL GOVERNMENT
8a Adoption of resolutions by the City Council and Agency Board approving the amended procedures for the formation and election of the Project Area Committee (PAC) for the proposed Strong Neighborhoods Initiative Redevelopment Project Area, providing for one additional residential tenant member and one less business owner member on the PAC. [MERGED]
Documents filed: Memorandum from Redevelopment Agency Executive Director Susan F. Shick, dated November 28, 2000, recommending adoption of said resolutions.
Discussion/Action:
William J. Garbett spoke in opposition to the proposal. Council Member Reed
inquired about the feasibility of adding Alviso to the Strong Neighborhoods
Initiative. Mayor Gonzales requested Redevelopment Agency Staff to work with
Council Member Reed on that issue. Upon motion by Vice Chair Fiscalini,
seconded by Council Member Chavez, and
unanimously carried, Redevelopment Agency Resolution No. 5047, and City
Council Resolution No. 70033, entitled: “A Resolution of the Council of the
City of San José Approving the Amended Procedures for the Formation and
Election of the Project Area Committee for the Proposed Strong Neighborhoods
Initiative Redevelopment Project Area, Providing for One Additional Residential
Tenant Member and One Less Business Owner Member on the PAC”, were adopted.
Vote: 11-0-0-0.
