MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL

 

 

SAN JOSÉ, CALIFORNIA                                                        TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2002

 

 

The Council of the City of San José convened in adjourned regular session at 4:00         p.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall for a joint meeting with the Redevelopment Agency Board.

 

            Present:         Council Members  -    Campos, Chavez, Cortese, Dando, Diquisto, LeZotte, Reed, Shirakawa, Jr., Williams, Yeager; Gonzales.

 

            Absent:          Council Members  -    None.

 

 

7.1       Approval by the City Council of an ordinance deleting the time limit on establishment of indebtedness in Almaden Gateway, The Alameda, Alum Rock Avenue, Century Center, East Santa Clara Street, Edenvale, Guadalupe-Auzerais, Japantown, Julian-Stockton, Market Gateway, Olinder, Park Center, Pueblo Uno, Rincon de los Esteros, San Antonio Plaza, Story Road and West San Carlos Redevelopment Project Areas.

 

            Documents Filed: Memorandum from Council Member Reed, dated October 14, 2002, recommending deferral of Item 7.1 to October 22, 2002, to allow additional time for the public to understand what is proposed and participate in the process.

 

            Discussion/Action: Public testimony was received and the item deferred to October 22, 2002.

 

 

7.2       Acceptance by the City Council and Agency Board of the disclosure of property interest by Mayor and Board Chairman Ron Gonzales and direction that the disclosure be entered into the public minutes of the Agency Board meeting.

 

            Documents Filed: Memorandum from Richard Doyle, General Counsel for the San José Redevelopment Agency, dated October 15, 2002, recommending acceptance of said disclosure of property interest by Mayor Gonzales.

 

            Discussion/Action: The disclosure of property interests of Mayor/Board Chairman Ron Gonzales was accepted. Vote: 11-0-0-0.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

            The Council of the City of San José and the Redevelopment Agency Board adjourned the Joint Redevelopment Agency Council meeting at 4:18 p.m.
