SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2003
The Council of the City of San José convened in adjourned regular session at 7:02 p.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall for a joint meeting with the Redevelopment Agency Board to hold a Public Hearing on the Final Proposed Budget Modifications for FY2003-2004.
Present: Council Members: Campos, Chavez, Chirco, Cortese, Dando, Gregory, LeZotte, Reed, Williams, Yeager; Gonzales.

Documents Filed: (1) Memorandum from City
Clerk Patricia L. O’Hearn, dated June 9, 2003, transmitting a Memorandum from
Planning Commission Secretary Stephen M. Haase, dated May 8, 2003, recommending
the adoption of the Proposed 2004-2008 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) with
further comments and four letters from Commissions recommending the 2003-2004
Budget. (2) Proof of Publication of Notice of Hearing, executed on May 6, 2003,
submitted by the City Clerk. (3) Letter Correspondence from Program Manager of
Day Break II Asian Respite and Caregiver Support Services Tammie Nguyen, dated
June 10, 2003, clarifying an incorrect statement regarding funding support for
the Day Break II program stated at the June 9, 2003 City Council Public
Hearing.
Discussion/Action: The Mayor opened the
Public Hearing and the Council accepted testimony from the following 37
individuals regarding specific budget requests, which will be considered by the
full City Council at the June 10, 2003 meeting: Asian American Recovery
