Committee Appointments

At last week’s Rules Committee meeting, the Committee appointed three individuals to the Project Diversity Screening Committee and deferred the last appointment to the February 11, 2004 Rules Committee meeting. The appointments represented individuals from Council Districts 4, 6 and 7. Councilmember Cortese expressed his interest in bringing forward an appointment from Council District 8, and the Rules Committee acknowledged that representation was needed from both Council Districts 5 and 8. The Mayor will also appoint four individuals to the Committee on February 17, 2004. At that meeting, the Mayor’s Office confirmed its interest in Council District representation on the Committee and stated that it would consider any Councilmember appointments that were not successfully approved by the Rules Committee.

The Rules Committee must appoint four individuals to the Project Diversity Screening Committee and forward the appointments to the full City Council for confirmation, which at this time is scheduled for February 17, 2004.
