a)      Expansion and Improvement of Transit and Transportation Systems

 

1.      Status Report on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Project

 

Upon a motion of Vice Chair LeZotte, seconded by Councilmember Williams the Committee approved the report with direction to provide a brief update at the October 21, 2003 Council meeting.

 

b)      Traffic Relief/Safe Streets

c)      Supporting Smart Growth

 

1.      Presentation on the cumulative Land Use / Transportation General Plan changes

 

Upon a motion of Vice Chair LeZotte, seconded by Vice Mayor Dando the Committee approved the report.

 

d)      Regional Relationships/Funding/Policy

 

1.      Update on State, Federal, and Local Legislative - Association of Bay Area Government (ABAG) / Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) task force update

 

Upon a motion of Vice Chair LeZotte, seconded by Vice Mayor Dando the Committee approved the report.

 

2.      Update on the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), Valley Transportation Plan (VTP) 2020 Roadways Projects – continued from September 8, 2003

 

Upon a motion of Vice Mayor Dando, seconded by Vice Chair LeZotte the Committee approved the report with direction to “cross-reference” this item for full Council action on October 21, 2003, and for Councilmembers to forward any additional comments to the Director of the Department of Transportation.
