RECOMMENDATION

 

The Planning Commission voted 7-0-0 to recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance to approve the subject rezoning. 

 

BACKGROUND

 

On October 17, 2001, the Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a Planned Development  from RM Residence Zoning District to A(PD) Planned Development Zoning District to allow up to three single-family detached residential units on 0.2 gross acres.

 

The Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement recommended conditional approval of the proposed . The Director’s recommendation of approval was on condition that the applicant be required to submit revised plans, prior to consideration of this project by the City Council, that include several minor revisions to the satisfaction of the Director of Planning. (See original staff report for details). The applicant has indicated that new plans that incorporate the requested revisions will be submitted prior to the anticipated City Council hearing date for the project.

 

The proposed project was considered as a consent calendar item. There was no discussion by the Planning Commission. No one from the public spoke in favor of or in opposition to the project.

 

The Planning Commission then closed the public hearing.

 

PUBLIC OUTREACH

 

A notice of the public hearing was distributed to the owners and tenants of all properties located within 500 feet of the project site, and staff has been available to respond to any questions regarding the project.

 

COORDINATION

 

As standard procedure in the development review process, this project was coordinated with the Department of Public Works, Fire Department, Police Department, and the Environmental Services Department.
