RECOMMENDATION

 

Place the following General Plan amendment and related item on the December 2 City Council Agenda under Item 12 General Plan Amendments:

 

12.2    Public Hearing on General Plan Text Amendment request and Development Agreement with EBAY Inc. for the property generally bounded by US Highway 101, Guadalupe Parkway, North First Street, and Karina Court on a 47.8-acre site

 

(a)                Recommendation: PUBLIC HEARING ON GENERAL PLAN TEXT AMENDMENT request to amend the General Plan Urban Design Policies to increase the maximum building height from 120 feet to 150 feet on a 47.8-acre site. (EBAY Inc., Owner/Applicant). CEQA:  Resolution No. 63624, File No. _________, File No. H03-039/ T03-09/GP03-T-08/DA EBAY.  Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement recommends approval.  Planning Commission recommends___________

(b)               Recommendation:  PUBLIC HEARING ON DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH EBAY INC. to allow for the development of 2 million square feet of Industrial Park development on the subject site including the transfer of 1,150,000 square feet of floor area credits to the subject property. EBAY Inc., Owner/Applicant). CEQA:  Resolution No. 63624, File No. _________, File No. H03-039/ T03-09/GP03-T-08/DA EBAY.

BACKGROUND 

 

Staff from the Office of Economic Development, Redevelopment and and Planning, Building and Code Enforcement have worked closely with representatives of EBay, Inc. to process the General Plan amendment and Development Agreement according to the schedule they requested.  In order to satisfy these scheduling requirements, the above items need to be placed on the December 2, 2003 City Council agenda.  The rest of the Fall, 2003 General Plan amendments will be heard by the Council on December 16, 2003.

 

Attached is are copies of the complete staff report for each item.  Electronic copies of these reports are also be transmitted to the Council Liaison.
