SUBJECT:  GENERAL  PLAN AMENDMENT FOR DECEMBER 2 CITY COUNCIL

RECOMMENDATION

 

Place the following General Plan amendment on the December 2 City Council Agenda under Item 12 General Plan Amendments:

 

12.3    Public Hearing on General Plan Text Amendment for the property located on the west side of North First Street at the terminus of Component Drive.

 

            Recommendation:  PUBLIC HEARING ON GENERAL PLAN TEXT AMENDMENT request to amend the Urban Design Policies of the General Plan to increase the maximum building height from 120 to 210 feet for property located on the west side of North First Street at the terminus of Component Drive on a 40.9 acre site. (BEA Systems, Owner/Applicant)   CEQA: Resolution No. 60197, Rincon De Los Esteros Redevelopment Area.  Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement and Planning Commission recommends ______________.

BACKGROUND 

 

Staff from the Office of Economic Development, Redevelopment and and Planning, Building and Code Enforcement have worked closely with representatives of BEA Systems to process their General Plan amendment according to the schedule they requested.  In order to satisfy these scheduling requirements, the above item needs to be placed on the December 2, 2003 City Council agenda.  The rest of the Fall, 2003 General Plan amendments will be heard by the Council on December 16, 2003.
