RECOMMENDATION

Place the following General Plan amendments and related items on the December 2 City Council Agenda under Item 12 General Plan Amendments (complete agenda description attached):

12.4 Public Hearing on modifications to the North San Jose Area Development Policy

Recommendation: PUBLIC HEARING ON MODIFICATION TO THE NORTH SAN JOSE DEVELOPMENT POLICY to increase the maximum allowable building height consistent with the San Jose 2020 General Plan. CEQA: San Jose 2020 General Plan Environmental Impact Report, Resolution No. 65459.

Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement recommends approval. Planning Commission recommends __________________.

BACKGROUND

The above item is associated with the General Plan amendments for the EBay, Inc. and BEA Systems, to be heard on the December 2, City Council agenda. In order to satisfy the scheduling requirements for those General Plan amendments, this item needs to be placed on the December 2, 2003 City Council agenda, as well.. The rest of the Fall, 2003 General Plan amendments will be heard by the Council on December 16, 2003.

Attached are copies of the staff report for this item. Electronic copies of these reports are also be transmitted to the Council Liaison.
