SUBJECT:     PDC01-05-058.  PLANNED DEVELOPMENT REZONING LOCATED AT THE NORTHEWESTERLY CORNER OF MONTEREY ROAD AND CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY

COUNCIL DISTRICT:  7

RECOMMENDATION

The Planning Commission voted (7-0-0) to recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance to approve the subject rezoning.

BACKGROUND

On November 28, 2001, the Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a Planned Development rezoning from A(PD) Planned Development District to A(PD) Planned Development to allow construction of a 92,600 square-foot self storage facility and a 3,391 square-foot tire sales and installation facility at an existing flea market and movie theatre on 32.9-gross acres.

The Director of Planning recommended approval of the proposed rezoning.

The proposed project was considered as a consent calendar item.  There was no discussion by the Planning Commission.  Additionally, no one from the public spoke in opposition to the project.

The Planning Commission then closed the public hearing.

PUBLIC OUTREACH

Notices of the public hearings were mailed to owners and occupants within 1,000 feet of the subject site, and staff has been available to respond to any questions regarding the project.

COORDINATION

As standard procedure in the development review process, this project was coordinated with the Department of Public Works, Fire Department, Police Department, Environmental Services Department and Parks Recreation and Neighborhood Services.
