SUBJECT:  C03-013.  DIRECTOR INITIATED REZONING LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF RHODES COURT AND THE ALAMEDA

RECOMMENDATION

 

The Planning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend that the City Council approve the rezoning.

 

 

BACKGROUND

 

On March 26, 2003, the Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a Director Initiated  from CG Commercial General and LI Light Industrial to CP Commercial Pedestrian Zoning District to allow commercial uses on a 0.81 gross acre site.

 

The Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement recommended approval of the proposed . The proposed project was considered as a consent calendar item.  There was no discussion by the Planning Commission. Additionally, no one from the public spoke in favor of or in opposition to the project.

 

The Planning Commission then closed the public hearing. 

 

 

PUBLIC OUTREACH

 

A notice of the public hearing was distributed to the owners and tenants of all properties located within 500 feet of the project site.

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW

 

The environmental impacts of this project were addressed by the Final EIR entitled “San Jose 2020 General Plan EIR,” which was certified on August 16, 1994 by the City of San Jose City Council Resolution Number: 65459.

 

 

COORDINATION

 

This project was coordinated with the Department of Public Works, Fire Department, Police Department, Environmental Services Department and the City Attorney.
