The low bid submitted by Tucker Construction is 24 percent over the
Engineer's Estimate. A review of the
individual bid items revealed that the contractor’s prices for the historic
renovation site work and various items were generally higher than the
Engineer’s Estimate. Given the
particular requirements of historic renovation and the generally known
high-water conditions of the Alviso area affecting site work, the bid is
considered acceptable for the work involved in the project.
