To provide additional information after bids were opened.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Report on bids and award of contract for the Evergreen Community Center Expansion Rebid Project to the lowest responsive bidder, I.C.C. General Contractors in the amount of $949,347 to include base bid and Add Alternates 1a, 1b, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 and approval of a contingency in the amount of $93,000. CEQA: Exempt: PP02-05-103

Staff determined that I.C.C. General Contractors submitted the lowest responsive bid based on the base bid and three add alternates within the engineer’s estimate. Staff reviewed the bids and decided to award Add Alternates 1a, 1b, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 in addition to the base bid to I.C.C. General Contractors. 

 

The contingency amount of $93,000.00 is appropriate for this project, and is consistent with Council Policy.

 

Construction will begin in December 2003 with beneficial use in Summer 2004.
