Check out the new Almaden Library / Community Center!

The new joint Almaden Library and Community Center opened to rave reviews from over 3,000 community members who attended the May 13th Grand Opening event.

The new 35,000 square foot Almaden Community Center features an Aerobic/Dance Studio, three Tiny Town preschool activity rooms, a Gymnasium, a Fitness Center, and a Cooking Classroom. It also houses a Computer Lab, Game Room, four classrooms, a Conference Room and an area for Neighborhood Service Providers, such as the Older Adult Resource Program, Senior Adult Legal Assistance, the RSVP Tax Program, and the Health Insurance Counseling Advocacy Program.

Senior programs began in the new center on May 15 th and have already attracted a large number of new participants. Senior Net computer classes will begin on June 6 th and youth summer camps and drop-in programs will begin on June 12 th. Summer recreation classes including dance, art, sports, and music will begin on June 26 th. During the summer, the center plans to expand its programming to include drop-in fitness, badminton, and volleyball on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Staff anticipates adding several new classes in the Fall including Jazzercise, cooking, and line dancing.
