• The San José City Council and Redevelopment Agency approved the proposed renovation of the Edenvale Shopping Center parking lot, creating a more a more inviting business environment. The renovation project consists of the removal of diseased trees, removal of asphalt and re-grading, installation of new asphalt paving, curbs to delineate landscaped areas, irrigation, landscaping and trees, lighting, two driveway entrances, two speed bumps, a striped pedestrian pathway from the bus stop to the stores and a new circulation pattern for increased parking capacity.
• On June 3, 2008 the San José City Council unanimously voted to approve the Turnkey Agreement with Hitachi Global Services. This agreement specifically dedicated parkland for three sites to be designated for future public park space. This agreement solidifies the future of a welcomed master plan that will ensure public park space.

• In order to comply with a recent FAA regulation change, Runway 30 Left at Mineta San Jose International Airport will require a two week closure, beginning May 19, 2008, with a re-opening schedule for June 3, 2008. • As part of national Bike to Work Week (May 12-16), the City of San Jose will host a short ride and ribbon cutting of a San Jose’s new “Route 11 Crosstown Bikeway”.
