Prior to joining District 3 staff, Ragan worked in the nonprofit sector for 10 years. She is an active member of the community, currently volunteering with Soroptimist International Silicon Valley, Legacy San Jose Alviso Foundation, Team in Training and Association of Fundraising Professionals Silicon Valley Chapter. A graduate of Santa Clara University, she holds degrees in Political Science and Communications. She and her dog, Sandy, reside in downtown San Jose’s Horace Mann neighborhood.

Roma Dawson, an experienced council aide, served the outgoing District 3 Councilmember, Cindy Chavez.  Other elected she has served include former District 2 Councilmember Charlotte Powers and Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren.  She has also held positions at the San Jose Downtown Association and the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau.  She and her husband, Daniel, reside in Naglee Park, within the district.

Kevin Schwaba grew up in Chicago, Illinois before attending Santa Clara University where he majored in Political Science and minored in Spanish Studies. He has studied abroad in Spain, ventured to Mexico to build houses and Peru to teach English. After graduation, he worked for Sam’s campaign as a Field Manager coordinating volunteers, organizing neighborhood outreach, and facilitating the “Get Out The Vote” strategy. He enjoys playing sports, reading, surfing, and catching up with his three brothers.  Kevin resides in San Jose and is conversant in Spanish.

Ruth Cueto received her B.A. in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from UC Berkeley.  As an undergraduate she tutored and mentored at neighborhood schools, interned for a local union and traveled to Rajgarh, India as a service volunteer. Ruth Cueto is originally from Los Angeles and has lived in the Bay Area since 1998 and currently resides in San Jose.

Rhonda Hadnot

Rhonda Hadnot previously served as Executive Assistant and Scheduler to Vice Mayor Cindy Chavez, Office Manager for Reid & Reid Law Firm, and in the Human Resources field for several High Tech Companies. Rhonda has also worked for the Board of Supervisors, Civil Service Commission, and Airport Commission for the City and County of San Francisco. Rhonda Hadnot was born and raised in East San Jose and is an alumni of the Eastside Union School Districts. In her spare time she volunteers in the community and in the children’s ministry at her church.
