Louansee Moua
Chief of Staff

Prior to joining the District 7 office, Louansee worked for Minnesota State Senator Mee Moua, and was involved in a number of political campaigns for such figures as former Minnesota Senate Majority Leader, Roger Moe and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. Louansee had a brief career in television broadcast journalism working for WTVD and WNCN in Raleigh , CNN-International in Atlanta and KTCA-17 in Saint Paul , Minnesota . Louansee earned a BA in Communications/Radio&Television Broadcast and has an MA in Business Management. When she is not out saving the world, she is fascinated by books, cooking, fishing, and new places she has never been.

Yen-Chi H. Nguyen

Yen-Chi has worked for various departments in the City of San José for more than 4 years. She has experience with Employee Services, San José Public Library System, City Manager’s Office, and the Office of the Independent Police Auditor. Prior to joining the City of San José , she worked in various office and business management positions in District 7. She has an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Academy of Art . She enjoys working with people and has been a volunteer and supporter of several organizations, including City of Hope, American Red Cross, City Team Ministries, Second Harvest Food Bank, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Christian Children Fund, and Miss Vietnamese Beauty Pageant of Northern California. She looks forward to improving the District 7 community.

Myvan Khuu

Although Myvan did not move to California until she was in high school, she has long since considered herself a Californian. Attending UC Berkeley (go Bears!), Myvan is a double major in English and Art History. After college, she went on to pursue a law degree from Santa Clara University. As a first-generation Vietnamese-American, Myvan has strived to help the Vietnamese community. Before coming to District 7, Myvan spent a year as a Legal Fellow at the East Bay Community Law Center, advocating on behalf of Vietnamese welfare recipients in Alameda County. She is proud of the work she has done on behalf of the Vietnamese community so far and looks forward to contributing to District 7. In her spare time, Myvan loves to read, travel, watch the Food Network, cook, and spend time with her family.

Jamie Borromeo

Jamie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Before joining District 7, Jamie was Editor-in-Chief of Asian Enterprise Magazine, the largest Asian American business magazine in the nation. As a political activist, she has worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Michael M. Honda (15-CA), who is chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. Jamie is currently Executive Director of the National Council for Asian American Business Associations (NCAABA), a non-profit organization that unifies local and regional Asian Pacific American chambers of commerce and business associations throughout the nation. Jamie’s hobbies include reading, writing, photography and spending time with her friends and family in her hometown, Los Angeles.

Elaine WhiteCouncil Assistant

Elaine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies of Sociology with a minor in Law and Society from the University of California , San Diego. Elaine is half English and half Bolivian, and grew up in the UK before coming to the US. Elaine has traveled extensively and has lived in England, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, and more. Passionate about social justice and the community, Elaine has worked in Washington D.C. for the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children (NCRIC) seeking pro bono counsel for unaccompanied minors going through the immigration court process. Elaine also has extensive experience working in youth ministry mentoring high school students and teaching them the importance of service. Elaine is known by her peers as wanting to save the world, and is looking forward to making a start by serving the people of District 7.
