I have had the honor of representing District 9 residents since 2003. District 9 is made up of wonderful neighborhoods and numerous small businesses, all of which I am proud to speak for on City Council. My vision for our district is to focus on quality of life issues such as parks, community centers, libraries and the fire stations in our neighborhoods. It is exciting to participate with our community to achieve our goals, and to realize our collective vision for District 9.

 


This Month's Topic:
How citizens can be a part of the budget discussion

As we all know, the national and world economy are undergoing a massive downturn that affects all of us on an individual level, whether in the form of rethinking a family budget, worrying about being able to find or keep a job, or figuring out how to get by on a fixed income. The downturn also has an affect on our city budget. San Jose will need to make up a $96 million shortfall to balance the budget for the fiscal year that begins next July.
