Donald Rocha is life-long resident of San Jose and a resident of Cambrian and the District 9 community since 1996.
Donald has spent his entire life here in San Jose; he grew up in west San Jose and now lives in the Cambrian area of District 9. He is a product of the K-8 public school system here in San Jose, while attending both Del Mar and Archbishop Mitty High Schools. The Councilmember’s college education includes an Associate of Arts degree from West Valley College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from San Diego State University.
Donald served as a School Board Member in the Cambrian School District from 2008 until he was elected to City Council. In addition to holding this elected position, his professional experience includes working for the San Jose Redevelopment Agency (SJRA) and serving as both a Chief of Staff and District Office Director for a number of elected officials at the State and City levels of government. Through these experiences, the Councilmember has worked on neighborhood concerns, regional issues, as well as industrial, residential, and commercial development. He has also worked closely with the corporate community on economic development to retain and attract businesses to support jobs while facilitating company production.
