The San Jose Prepared! 20-hour program educates people about disaster preparedness and emergency response for hazards that may impact their community. Participants will learn basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, neighborhood organization, and S.T.A.R.T. Triage.
Graduates of the 20-hour course take the skills they have learned into their community by educating friends, family, and their neighbors to ensure that their neighborhood is self-sufficient immediately following a wide-scale disaster when resources are scarce.
