The San Jose Police Officers’ Association (POA) represents approximately 1,368 FTEs, including the classifications of Police Officer, Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, and Deputy Chief of Police.  The POA’s contract expires on June 30, 2010. Negotiations began on February 2, 2010, and the City and POA are currently in negotiations to continue efforts to reach an agreement on a new contract.
