SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD (PART TIME) (2441)

CLASS PURPOSE

   Under immediate supervision, performs work of routine difficulty assisting children safely across streets and reporting problems requiring possible police action. Performs related work as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESULTS (Any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

   This class is the lower of two classes in the School Safety Series. It differs from the higher class of School Safety Coordinator in that incumbents of the latter supervise School Crossing Guards.

Training and Experience

   Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of eighth grade.

Licenses/Certificates

   Possession of a valid driver's license authorizing operation of motor vehicle in California.

  As a condition of employment, incumbents may be required to use their personal vehicles in performing the job duties.
