EQUIPMENT MECHANIC ASSISTANT II (3312)

CLASS PURPOSE
Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty or leads in the inspection, servicing, and minor repairing of automotive equipment and construction equipment, and under the supervision of an Equipment Mechanic, performs more advanced repairs and servicing. Performs other related work as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESULTS (Any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This class differs from that of Equipment Mechanic Assistant I in that incumbents of this class act as lead to incumbents of the latter class, perform more advanced repair or inspection duties or perform specialized repair or installation functions. This class differs from that of Equipment Service Supervisor in that incumbents of the latter have a broader work assignment and a supervisory responsibility.

Training and Experience
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of the tenth grade and two years experience in the lubrication and servicing of automotive equipment which involved the maintenance of parts and supply inventories, and the maintenance of service records.

Licenses/Certificates
   Possession of a valid California driver's license at all times is a condition of employment at all times is a condition of employment.
   As a condition of employment in some designated positions, possession of a valid State of California Class A or B driver's license with applicable endorsements may be required in the performance of job duties.
