Incumbents of this class are under the immediate supervision of an Associate Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Division Manager, and will initially spend much of the time in a training capacity, progressing to technical computation and design of relatively routine projects such as the layout of the elevations, curb, gutter and sidewalk in street construction. Assignments are normally received from higher-level engineers who lay out the work and give instruction on work details. Incumbents in this class are not responsible for independent decisions regarding design principles.
